Paul Elliott assumes Presidency

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 28, 2013) - Paul Elliott, formerly a teacher from Fort Frances High School, will officially assume the presidency of the Ontario Secondary Schools Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) on July 1, 2013.

Born in Woodstock, Ontario, Paul received his elementary and high school education in Grimsby and Niagara Falls. He graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Science and from Brock University with a Bachelor of Education. Elliott began his teaching career at Rainy River High School, with a brief stint as program co-ordinator at Trollwood Performing Arts School in Fargo, North Dakota.

He was first elected to the OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Executive as Executive Officer in 2005, and as Vice President in 2007, 2009 and 2011. President Elliott’s term runs until June 30, 2015.

OSSTF/FEESO, founded in 1919, has 60,000 members across Ontario. They include public high school teachers, occasional teachers, educational assistants, continuing education teachers and instructors, early childhood educators, psychologists, secretaries, speech-language pathologists, social workers, plant support personnel, university support staff, and many others in education.
