Unique visitor promoting reading with kids across the district
By Michael Dawber
CEO/Librarian
The Rainy River Library is welcoming a world-famous traveller to town!
From July 6 to 13, Caramel the guinea pig is the library’s special guest for the TD Summer Reading Club.
Caramel is leaving his usual digs in the children’s department of the Fort Frances Public Library for the trip.
His tour is all about our Reading Club theme of travel, adventures and new places.
Caramel will be appearing at the Rainy River, Emo and Atikokan libraries this month before returning home to Fort.
You can hobnob with Caramel during regular library hours.
While you’re there, be sure to claim your prizes for the Reading Club challenge.
Caregivers and children age 12 and under can sign up for our challenge.
Children win a prize for every book read. They can win a second prize for making a picture or review of their favorite stories.
Books must be checked out overnight to count.
Don’t forget: our Summer Reading leader, Cassie, will have a storytime and craft program every Friday at 11 until August 16.
All library summer programs are free of charge.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
