Mabel Louise Nordin

In loving memory of Mabel Nordin, age 91, of Rainy River, ON who passed away on Monday, October 15, 2001 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, ON.
Mabel was born on October 20, 1909 in Scanlon, Minnesota to the late Martin and Selma Johnson. She was united in marriage to Harry Nordin on March 16, 1929. She worked at the Red Indian Lodge in Sioux Narrows, ON and managed at Dalseg’s Dry Goods for 15 years. She loved to travel, fish and dance. She was an excellent cook and a fastidious housekeeper.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry on January 10, 1992; brothers George, Hugo and Herald Johnson; brothers in law Henry and Raymond Nordin.
Mabel leaves behind her son Larry (Gwen) Nordin of Bergland, ON; daughters JoAnn Pierce of Bergland, ON, and Shirley (Marne) Thompson of Red Lake Falls, MN; grandchildren Vicky(Greg), Kim (Dale), Jody (Larry), Sheila (Cam), Marty, D’Arcy (Mike), Bryan (Kim), Debra (Chuck), and Jeff (Colleen); 16 great grandchildren; sister Margaret (Mark) Hanson; sisters in law Millie Johnson, Midge Johnson, Edith McNeil and Ethel Vennes and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, ON
Pastor Robert Ek officiated with interment in the Bergland Cemetery in Bergland, ON.
The pallbearers were Mabel’s grandsons and great grandsons.
