Four seeking to be 2013 Emo Fair Queen

ASHLEY CROSWELL
My name is Ashley Croswell and I am an Emo Fair Queen contestant, along with three other great girls who I have had an opportunity to get to know this summer.
I am 15 years old and will be entering Grade 10 at Fort Frances High School this fall.
I have been a figure skater in the Border Skating Club for many years and after achieving my goals, I have decided to hang my skates up to do other sports.
I played junior Muskie basketball and soccer this past year and hope to again next season.
I live outside of Emo with my parents, Trevor and Mary. I have two younger siblings, Taylor and Brandon.
I would like to thank my entire family for all their support and help throughout the summer.
I am excited about the fair this year; I am not only a Fair Queen contestant but a 4-H member and have been for the past four years. I will be showing my 4-H steer, “Piggy,” at the beef show and auction.
Come out and support our 4-H’ers from the district.
I am honoured to have Don and Tammy Foster from Nestor Falls Marine Ltd. as my sponsor this year. Both Don and Tammy have been a big help and I greatly appreciate them.
Thank you!
Another thank you to Sis McCormick and Adam for their hard work and dedication to the Emo Fair Queen contest. Without volunteers like you, I wouldn’t have this great opportunity and experience.
I encourage everyone to come out and join in on the fun at the Rainy River Valley Agricultural’s Society’s fall fair in August.
MADISON ALLAN
Hi, everybody! My name is Madison Allan.
I am 16 and will be starting Grade 12 this fall.
I’m a country girl from north of Devlin, where I like to spend time riding my gorgeous appaloosa horse, Charm!
I live with my parents, Vincent and Dale, along with my two siblings, Elizabeth and Brett.
They all have been very helpful with my participation in the Fair Queen competition, and I am so thankful for that.
My sponsor is Paul and Jodie Brown of Paul Brown Trucking, located north of Stratton.
They have been incredible with their support and regardless of the outcome of this pageant, I am grateful for their involvement and I hope to make them proud!
I am super excited to be running for the 2013 Emo Fair Queen title and I would like to wish the other girls (Kaitlyn, Hailey, and Ashley) the best of luck!
It really is a blessing to have the opportunity to make these great memories with you girls!
I would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy our fabulous fall fair this August!

HAILEY WIRTZ
Hey, my name is Hailey Wirtz and I’m 16 years old.
I live in Fort Frances and this September I will be a senior at Fort Frances High School.
My interests are dancing, basketball, working out, running, and camping.
I have been in dance for nine years and have been competing in competitions—in Minneapolis and Thunder Bay—for four years.
I can dance many different types of dance, including hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, and ballet, but my favourite is jazz.
Being a contestant in the Emo Fair Queen pageant already has been radical, but I am anticipating the events they plan for us throughout the month of August and getting involved in the community.
Already I have gotten close with the girls who are running for Emo Fair Queen and even have made a brand new friend.
We all have gotten so close in such a short period of time.
I would like to thank my sponsors, Wendy and Rod Woodgate at “Circle D” family restaurant in Emo, all my friends and family that have supported me, and Sis McCormick for dedicating her time and energy into making all this happen for the girls and myself.
I also would like to thank all of the people who supported me by buying my buttons, and Ben Morelli at “From The Grind Up” for allowing me to sell my buttons at his café.
I wish all my fellow Emo Fair Queen contestants good luck this summer and thank them for the extraordinary memories we have made!
KAITLYN COTTAM
My name is Kaitlyn Cottam and I am running for Emo Fair Queen 2013.
I am 17 and going into Grade 12 at Fort Frances High School.
I live in Nestor Falls with my mom, dad, and brother, Scott. I have two older brothers: Tyler, who is “forever 18,” and Darrin, who is 22.
I also have two dogs and a puppy we rescued—Cheyenne, Aycer, and Lily.
My interests are reading, playing soccer, hardball, and softball, swimming, tubing, dancing, babysitting, and spending time with my family.
I work full-time at Shady Roost Resort.
My goal after school is to become a pediatric nurse as I love helping children. This is my dream.
I want to thank my sponsor, Greens Barbecue Bar, as well as my mom and dad, my grandparents, and Auntie Karen.
I want to wish all the girls good luck.
