Many break and enters remain unsolved
The Kenora OPP was called to a report of a Break and Enter at a residence in the Valley Drive area in the City of Kenora sometime between the hours of 11:30 am and 2:45 pm on July 9, 2013 after someone had forced entry into the residence and stole several items of jewelry.
The Red Lake OPP is investigating a break and enter into a garage at 2 Pugsley Street early on July 21st 2013. The suspect fled before anything was taken.
The Dryden OPP received a report of a theft of fishing items on July 23, 2013 at Watch Lake (commonly known as 6 Mink Lake.) Various items were taken from the landing area.
The Kenora OPP received reports of two break and enters into two garages in the Lakeside area of Kenora on July 27, 2013. The following power tools were stolen at the time:
Craftsman 19.2 Volt Cordless drill with battery, red, black and silver in color
Powersmith Lithon Cordless drill with battery, green and black in color
Stihl MS290 Farm Boss Chainsaw and case - Serial #2744251807.
The Kenora OPP responded to a report of Break and Enter to a Harbourfront area business early on July 29th, 2013. Shortly thereafter two more businesses in the area also made reports of Break and Enter. The additional reports was that a 42” Samsung television, a Samsung Blue Ray Player, and an older model Sony DVD player had been stolen.
The Kenora OPP is continuing to investigate incidents involving mischief to vehicles in the Minto area. On Monday, July 29, 2013 a male was seen hitting the side of a vehicle with what appeared to be a crow bar. The male was described as approximately six feet tall and dressed in dark clothing. This person fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigation revealed a total of eight vehicles had been damaged.
The Kenora OPP are investigating arson as a result of a small fire that was intentionally set at a residence in the central area of Kenora on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
