Hunter found dead

(FORT FRANCES, ON.) – On Monday 14, 2013 at approximately 9:30 pm, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a deceased male located approximately 30 kilometres north of the junction of Highway 11 and Highway 611 North in an unorganized township.

The deceased male had been hunting with friends but failed to return to his hunt camp when expected. He was located by members of his hunting party after a brief search. The coroner has released the scene and the death is considered not suspicious in nature. A post mortem investigation is being conducted today at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, ON to determine the exact cause of death.

The male is from out of country (United States). The name will be released pending notification of next of kin.
