Dora was born and raised in the Swan River, Manitoba area, one of the 11 children in her family. At 23 she met John, the love of her life. They were married in 1951 and she moved to the farm outside of Sleeman. Dora was dedicated to her family and loved living on the farm. She could make anything out of anything. She loved canning, singing, country music and dancing. Her Favourite pastimes were photography, drawing and collecting things. She loved walking and playing solitaire. Dora had a kind heart and was happy to welcome everyone into her home. There was always a pot of tea to be shared and stories to be told. Dora's passing has left a hole in the hearts of her family.
The family is thankful for the care and compassion shown to Dora at the Poseidon Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local food bank or outreach program in honour of Dora's lifelong passion for helping those in need, or to the Alzheimer Society.
Funeral services were held at the Rainy River Knox United Church on Saturday, October 19 at 1 PM.
