Olive Ethel Ewald of Rainy River, ON passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the age of 89 at the Long Term
Care Unit, where she had been for 3 months.

Olive was born in Worthington, ON to Dan and Ethel Ewald on March 23, 1925.
She was the second child of a family of eleven children. Olive spent many hours helping look after her sisters and brothers. Most of Olive's life was spent in Barwick, Ont on the farm.

Although she did work in tourist camps logging camps and restaurants as a cook.
When her father became unable to run the farm anymore, Olive came home to help out.
After her father passed away, she stayed on the farm to look after her mother, and run the family farm full time.
She loved children a lot, and spent lots of time with her nieces and nephews.
For many years she ran a foster home, to many young children of all ages, sometimes as many as 3-4 at a time.
She was predeceased by her father Dan, mother Ethel, sisters Lorna and Gladys, three brothers Jack, Glenn and Bruce. Nephews Danny Ewald, Gerald (Max's) Ewald, Danny Thornington.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss. Bob & Elsie Ewald, Bill & Gean Ewald of Rainy River. Don & Isbel of Sechelt, BC; Gerry & Flo of Terrace, BC; Ken & Carol of Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law Thea Ewald of Smithers, BC; 37 nieces and nephews all special to her, and many great nieces and nephews.
The children always liked to spend time on the farm with her, and their grandparents.
Family and friends were always welcome at the farm.
When Olive sold the farm, she and her brother Bruce moved to Rainy River to live there until their passing.
Funeral service will be held at a much later date.
