Bergland candy business gets even sweeter

Erin Rencher
Erin’s Candy

After receiving countless calls from people all over Canada and some in the US who would like to learn how to make candy Erin’s Candy has decided to open a new division that will help them do just that. Erin’s Candy Consultant’s will be trained by business owner Erin Rencher.
Many people also wonder where they can buy specialized chocolate supplies, as candy requires special food colourings and flavourings so they are not ruined (water based products are not compatible with chocolate). These things are not available close to many peoples homes....some travel as far as two hours to purchase the flavourings.
Taking those things into consideration Erin decided to provide a way for people
to get the candy making supplies and skills. Erin’s Candy Consultant’s will have access to skills and information that took Erin 34 years to acquire. “There is nothing like it in existence at this time.”
Also there is little available for learning how to make candy outside of some major cities...when Erin recently travelled to Toronto there were people that were just amazed because they had never seen anyone make candy and had no idea how it was done.
“It is my way of helping other people to have a business and be successful! It is geared toward Moms, college students, anyone who would like to make money, needs a flexible schedule, and wants the ability to work from home,” said Erin.
She will provide training from her via the internet, printed materials and a DVD. They then have a hostess invite friends to a party where everyone that is invited is shown how to make candy, it is pure fun!
The materials to make the candy will then be available for purchase through the Candy Consultant. The party set up is such that there is a Basic Candy Making package where they will learn skills to make different types of chocolate suckers (Painted, poured, Wet Painted, Sugar Decorated etc), how to work with chocolate, how to mould chocolate, how to make marbled chocolates and how to make chocolate greeting cards that you can actually send in the mail (they even say seasons greetings..and other timely sayings).
More advance modules, eight more in total, will be available to help them build and improve their chocolate making skills. They include things like: making chocolate fudge (using chocolate for the base....) multi colored layers, and exquisite flavouring make this fudge amazing. Also chocolate/caramel gourmet apples like you see for a lot of money in the malls, Another thing they learn is how to make specialized chocolate pretzels. They use a mould and they are geared toward seasons. For Halloween the long pretzels are put into a mould where they will turn into a chocolate ghost....or for valentines day they have hearts on them and they say I love you. etc. Then they will be taught how to make Three dimensional chocolates, Filled Chocolates, Chocolate dipped strawberry roses and other chocolate dipped fruit. Also they will be taught how to make wedding and special occasion candy and lastly they learn to put it all together and make centerpieces for tables out of chocolates and Chocolate Villages for Christmas, Spooky Villages for Halloween and eve Chocolate ‘gingerbread’ Houses that are made from chocolate...and all of the decorations like candy canes and trees and even Santa are made from colorful chocolate. They last all through the holiday season if people can keep themselves from eating them.
This is a lot of fun! People in Idaho, Michigan, Connecticut, Peterborough, British Columbia, and Utah who will be starting the program September 15th.
Erin will be offering the Consultant program in Toronto on the 4-14 of November..where there are 350,000 people who go through the fair, mostly from other provinces.
It is quite complex and has taken many hours of research and getting the candy making knowledge out of her head and into a usable format.
After the US and Canada she plans on opening other countries to this program.
