Dorothy "Dolly" Proteau, 91

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dolly” Proteau on
December 1, 2014 in Newmarket Place, Tisdale, SK., after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 91.
Dorothy was born in Fort Frances, Ontario on March 8, 1923.
The family moved to Rainy River, Ontario where she met Delphis Proteau; the two were married on August 5, 1940. Together they ran a business called Friday’s Service Station. After selling the business, they moved to Winnipeg in 1963.
In the summer of 2011, Dorothy moved to Tisdale and made her new home in MacKay Tower.
She excelled in craftwork and kept her hands busy with sewing, knitting and cross-stitch. She kept her mind sharp with reading and solving word puzzles.
In warmer months she enjoyed fishing on Barrier Lake with Bev and Denver.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Fred and Grace Hall; husband Delphis; brothers Jack, Charles, Raynor and Arnie; and sister Florence.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Bev (Denver) Wood in Tisdale; grandsons Richard in Victoria and Gordon (Karen) in Martensville, with twin great granddaughters Micah and Renner; sister Vera (Gene) Desorcy in Winnipeg; brother Wayne (Jan) Hall in Thompson; sister-in-law Blanche as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
There will be no funeral at Dorothy’s request; and interment will be held at a later date in Rainy River, Ontario.
Donations may be made to Newmarket Place Auxiliary as a token of remembrance.

We are honoured to serve the family.
