21 species identified in winter bird count

An elusive Northern Goshawk was the star attraction on the Rainy River Library’s 2nd annual winter bird count.
Eight volunteers gave their time to help count the birds on December 30.
The count covered the area between Stratton, Morson and Rainy River.
The final tally was 21 species and 725 individual birds.
