School board bestows accolades in RR

The Rainy River District School Board met at Rainy River High School last Tuesday evening with a fairly busy agenda on tap.
The very first item was a resolution to grant the Director of Education the power to close schools if strike or work action by various staff unions are initiated. Board Chair and local representative, Dianne McCormack, read the resolution which cited concerns for student safety and the protection of school property as grounds for school closures if the Director of Ed. deems it necessary. The resolution passed unanimously.
