Until then!
Well I have finally made it "Until then!"
28 years ago this December 31st I began my career at the Record as Managing Editor. My very first story was covering the toll being removed from the international bridge!
Almost every week since then I have written Ken's Korner.
Sometimes it has an editorial edge to it, but for the most part it has been about life in general... mostly my life.
Every week I signed off with "Until then, Ken" not ever knowing when "Until then" would be. Well now I know... it is this Friday, Sept. 16, 2016.
This weekend my honey and I will be packing up my belongings and moving me to the US to begin a new chapter in our lives!
Many of you have asked what I will do there... at this point I am not sure. I have had several job offers but until I get a green card I canAnot work. So for the first while Kim will be keeping me busy with a "Honey Do list!"
While I am sad to be leaving the Record and my coworkers... I am excited to be done with weekend commutes to and from Bemidji and very excited to be with my wife and kids full time!
I would be remiss if I did not thank you, the readers, for reading every week! Without you there would be no Ken's Korner!
I would also like to thank my coworkers, Anne Mailloux and Dawn Drennan and the staff at the Fort Frances Times for making this job a pleasure to do all this time.
I have covered so many exciting events as Editor and look forward to coming home to participate in them in the future!
Someone once told me how lucky I was to get to go to every event... but when you are working you do not get to enjoy them as much as you do when participating!
It has been a real privilege to "Record" the local history here!
Thank you all so much!
