Dennis Floyd Nelson

Dennis Nelson, age 45 of Bergland, Ontario passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 21, 2001.

He was born on January 19. 1956 in Rainy River, Ontario. Dennis grew up in Bergland, and attended McCrosson-Tovell School and Rainy River High School.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Caland Ore Mine in Atikokan until it closed, and then moved to Bergland. In 1998, Dennis received his grade 12 Certificate from Alternative Education. He was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Bergland. For enjoyment Dennis liked hunting, fishing and listening to his music, playing pool, ball, and riding bike.

He was predeceased by his father Floyd Nelson.

Dennis is survived by his mother Lillian Nelson of Rainy River, Ont; two sisters, Shirley and husband Leonard Larsen of Bergland, Ont., and Judy and husband Hugh Ferguson of Winnipeg, MB; five brothers, Stanley and Betty of Devlin, Ont. Roger Nelson and wife Kathy of Edmonton, AB, Jerry Nelson and wife Dodie of Lethbridge, AB, Allan Nelson and wife Paulette of Atikokan, ON, and Ricky Nelson and wife Danette of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Bergland, Ontario. President Charles Gate will officiate with interment in Bergland Cemetery, in Bergland, Ontario.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the Rainy River Funeral Home in Rainy River, Ontario.

The active pallbearers will be Stanley Nelson, Roger Nelson, Jerry Nelson, Ricky Nelson, Leonard Larsen and Robert Nelson.
