Harry Gibbins, 68

Mr. Harry Gibbins, passed away on Monday, May 14th, 2001 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ontario.

Harry was born September 6th, 1932 in Morson, Ontario, to the late Alexander Gibbins Sr., and Katie Gibbins. Harry lived most of his life in Morson. At one time Harry worked for Dalseg's where he ran a fishing boat. He also worked for the Bridgeman Boat, The Ark, and Cedar Island Resort. Most recently he was employed at Shoal Lake Wild Rice Inc. for Ben Ratuski. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Survived by his two sons Al and Thomas, numerous grandchildren, as well as great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers Lawrence, Alexander Jr., and Leonard, and four sisters Rita Andy, Gladys Andy, Diane Major, and Janet Larson.

Predeceased by his son Joseph Gibbins, his daughter Shirley Gibbins, brothers James, Allan Michael, and Clifford, and sisters Katherine Jensson and Matilda Gibbins.

Friends visited with the family on Thursday evening for viewing, May 17th, at 7:00 p.m at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bergland, Ontario.

Funeral service was held Friday morning, May 18th at 11:00 a.m. with Willie Longenecker as the officiating pastor. Brian Major read the eulogy and lead in Ojibwe prayer.

Pallbearers were Hugh Jensson, Rueben Gibbins, Elmer Chang, Clarence Gibbins, Larry Gibbins, John Gibbins, Melvin Morrison, and Leslie Morrison.
