Forest W.I. News

Submitted by Laurel Desrosier The first meeting of the New Year was held at the home of Peggy Livingston on January ninth. There were ten members and one guest present. Carol Clifford read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved as read. Annie van Rozen gave the financial report and it was approved. Carol Clifford read some interesting excerpts from the Connecting Link. She also read the minutes of the Area Convention Meeting. We had a discussion about who we could get for a guest speaker for a Rose Programe in February. There was a lively discussion concerning the quilt blocks that are now ready to assemble. It was decided to make one large quilt from them. Laurel adjourned the meeting. Peggy Livingston won both the door prize and the draw. You should have had a lottery ticket Peggy. A delicious lunch was served by Peggy Livingston and Vivian Hartnell. The next meeting will be held at the home of Betty Blight with Laurel Desrosier as her co-hostess. Roll call will be read a short poem. After the meeting I received a call concerning the following events that are happening in the district. Planning for the Area Convention and the District Annual Meeting will take place on January twenty second at ten AM at Green Manor in Fort Frances. There will be a Museum Board meeting at seven PM on January twenty ninth in Emo. The Heritage Day Tea will be held at the Legion in Emo on February sixteenth. I will attend as many of these events as I can.
