Mayor responds to vacation questions

To the citizens of Rainy River;
I ran for the position of Mayor because I wanted to see this town move forward. I have, and continue to have, the towns best interest at heart for any decisions I make. I have not and would not jeopardize the well being of this community by inappropriate discussions or any other actions.
It is unfortunate that my vacation plans, which included a trip with four others and which was booked before I became Mayor is seen negatively to the Town by certain individuals.
The legal case in question is already in the courts and it will be decided on its merits and neither I nor anyone else can change or influence the facts as they stand.
It is unfortunate that the past Council’s non-progressive energy continues to impact negatively on our community.
