All shoveled out!

Are you all shoveled out?
I know I sure was on Sunday. After about a foot of snow fell from Friday to Sunday everyone had their work cut out for them.
I thought the snow might let up overnight on Saturday so I told my little dog he was going to have to hold it until morning.
Needless to say he was very anxious to go out when the sun came up but to his bewilderment and my back, several more inches of snow had fallen.
I looked at him, with his eyes turning yellow, and his 5 inch height legs crossed and then looked at the 10+ inches on the deck and knew he was going to have to wait even longer.
I made the first path a priority for Navy (my dog). I shoveled out towards the front... figuring he could run up and down the tire ruts on the street if I could get him out there.
It took about 10 minutes to get to the front. I then came back to the deck and decided to shovel to the back before taking him out, just in case the lane had ruts for him to run in as I felt that would be a safer place than the main street for him.
Just as I made it to the back I heard a roar down the street. The snowplow came down and plowed my front pathway in again.... I growled and proceeded back out there to clear it and get Navy some relief.
Well we got out there and he went and he went and he went... he probably could have melted a path to the front!
After one hour of shoveling I had to go in and take a break, dripping wet with sweat... a shower, nice breakfast and back out I went to continue fighting the fight.
There were snowblowers, shovelers and plows going steady.
The snow kept coming down off and on all day but no one was ready to give up.
I was relieved when it was all done... well at least until Monday morning when I discovered a 4 foot high snowbank in front of our office!
I found a way around it and retrieved the office shovel. It seems there was one more battle to fight.
I did the front and the back and again was dripping with perspiration.
Well I hope it is over for a while, but knowing that we are heading into spring in a few weeks, I am sure there will be a few more dumps of the stuff. For now I am all shoveled out.
–Until then,
Ken
