Willy Walleye 5K is just around the corner

Solvay Pharmaceuticals and the Triple A Booster Club invite you to take part in the annual Willie Walleye 5K Run/Walk to be held Saturday, June 2, at 9 a.m. Race headquarters is the ambulance garage behind The Ranch House restaurant, and the race will start and finish on 1st Street. This event will kick off Baudette’s 16th Annual Willie Walleye Day celebration.
Plaques will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, and medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers in several age groups, including a 12 & Under category. All participants will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag. Refreshments will be provided after the race, and door prizes will also be up for grabs.
There is a $15 entry fee for the race, and early registration is recommended. Race day registration will cost $20. Forms are available at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Lake of the Woods High School, Rainy River High School, Lake of the Woods Foods, The Baudette-LW Area Chamber of Commerce, and Brockie’s Jewellers in Fort Frances. Proceeds from this 5K event go to the Lake of the Woods-Rainy River Cross Country program and the Lake of the Woods Humane Society.
