Rainy River District School Board Announces Principal and Vice Principal Appointments for the 2007-2008 School Year
(April 27, 2007) - The Rainy River District School Board recently announced several new appointments for Principals and Vice Principals of its schools effective September 2007.
Ian Simpson will replace Kendall Olsen as Principal of Riverview School and McCrosson-Tovell School. Ian Simpson began the 2006/2007 school year as Principal of Sturgeon Creek School and Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program and during the school year, he was appointed to the position of Assistant to the Director. Kerri Tolen will return from a leave of absence and replace Anne Carradice as Vice Principal of Riverview School and McCrosson-Tovell School. Anne Carradice will be a French Consultant and has a planned leave of absence for a portion of the 2007/2008 school year. Anne will be returning to an administrative position in 2008/2009.
Kendall Olsen, Principal at Riverview School and McCrosson-Tovell School, will replace Leslie-Barr Kellar as Principal at Sturgeon Creek School and Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program.
Leslie Barr-Kellar, Acting Principal at Sturgeon Creek School and Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program will replace Gemma Lamonato as Vice Principal of Donald Young School and Nestor Falls School. Leslie Barr-Kellar began the 2006/2007 school year as Vice Principal at Crossroads School and during the school year, she was appointed to the position of Acting Principal at Sturgeon Creek School and Sturgeon Creek Alternative Program. The Rainy River District School Board wishes Gemma Lamonato, Vice Principal of Donald Young School and Nestor Falls School, all the best in retirement. The Board appreciates her years of dedication to student achievement as a teacher, a coordinator, and as an administrator.
Jim Chorney, Acting Vice Principal at Rainy River High School, will remain at the high school with his appointment to the position of Vice Principal.
