RRHS soccer teams bring home silver

Last Wednesday in Kenora, the RRHS soccer teams competed in the single “A” NorWOSSAA Championships.
In Boys semi-final action, RRHS defeated Sioux Lookout 1-0 to advance to the finals against St. Thomas Aquinas of Kenora. The boys lost a hard fought final game by the score of 1-0, giving RRHS the silver medal.
In Girls semi-final action, the girls also defeated Sioux Lookout 1-0 to advance to the finals against St. Thomas Aquinas of Kenora. The nail biting final game was tied after regulation time. Our girls lost in the shootout by a score of 3-2, giving our girls team the silver medal as well.
Unfortunately only the gold medal teams advance to NWOSSA play.
Both teams played well all season and represented our school with class. Congratulations to both teams.
