The many months of June

We are almost at the halfway point of the year. June is the month of weddings. June is the month of graduations. June is often considered the month of celebration because so many good things seem to happen. It is also one of those months that have no statutory holidays.
Yes July 1, Canada Day falls at the end of the month. On the 17th, we will celebrate Father’s Day.
But did you know that June is also known as Aquarium Month, Candy Month, Dairy Month, Fight the Filthy Fly Month, Gay Pride Month, National Accordion Awareness Month, National Adopt a Cat Month, National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month, Rose Month and Turkey Lovers Month.
Last Friday the first Friday of June we celebrated National Doughnut Day. June has thirty special day celebrations. On Wednesday it is National Gardening Exercise Day. That day we can exercise with our plants or for those late in putting their gardens in, get their exercise by planting.
On the same day it is national Yo-Yo day and we can get our exercise by flexing our wrists. Monday we had Old Maid’s Day who could hug their cats on Hug your Cat Day. Donald Duck gets his day on June 9.
Next week is National E-mail week. We get to celebrate all the spam that we receive daily.
Some days are more important. Take Best Friends Day this Friday. We can celebrate the day with our best friends, but it seems that every day we spend with our best friend is a day of celebration. We really don’t have to have a day for it. And we can’t forget Hug Holiday when we are expected to offer up more hugs, even to strangers.
Halfway through the month we have to work on Smile Power Day. Just glue that smile to your face. If we all smile on that Friday, everywhere will be a happier day.
As the National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month, we have a day for Fresh Veggies, and Eat your vegetables. As national Dairy Month, we have on Thursday National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, on the 20th National Ice Cream Soda Day and the 22nd National Chocolate Éclair Day. I suppose that a good balance of fresh fruits and vegetables followed by an equally good balance of Dairy products each day will make us healthy. I am just not sure about those Chocolate Éclair Desserts.
On the eighteenth of this month we can all go out and celebrate by splurging on that want list and at the same day take part in International Panic Day when the reality sets in that we have spent too much on Splurging Day.
Most days of the month are double booked with celebrations. It is really hard to pick and choose the right one to celebrate every day. If you have trouble taking part in all these celebrations, you will be forgiven on Forgiveness Day, which falls on June 26.
