Senior prom a huge success

We had a beautiful evening for our Senior Prom held on the river property of Lady Round To It, (Elsie Gerula).
After the ladies had assembled we proceeded with the Grand March across the sun deck, pausing for a photo opportunity under the decorated arbour. The horn sounded, and each lady was announced by her Royal Title.
Our Prom Queen, Jan Lee, then led the procession around balloons and tables ending with refreshments on the lawn. Prizes were awarded for various outfits including the girl who missed the prom, Lady Lizbeth, (Nancy Fretter) who sported her hair in curlers and pyjamas complete with teddy bear.
Lady Linda of La Di Da (Linda Budreau) arrived with a large red sombrero and maracas saying she thought it was a Senor Prom, as in “Mexican.” Of course Linda was joking as she also came in a pretty prom gown.
At least two ladies, Lady Trillium, (Donna Moen) and Lady Snowbird (Ruth Holt) came dressed as Chaperones and were quick to point out that no one better spike the punch.
Jan Lee took home a prize for Prom Queen as well as the wonderful doll door prize.
Lady Dolly of La Tea Da, (Dawn Jarvis) also won a prize for fanciest outfit.
“Guess who’s in the Picture” was played with 18 photos being displayed, some prom pictures and some baby photos. Dawn Jarvis guessed the most correctly. Other prizes were also awarded. Dawn then did a reading called “Getting Ready for the Reunion”. The ladies had a good laugh at the antics of getting ready just as they had for the prom, girdles and all.
Duchess of Dollies, (Jessie Bodnarchuk) read an amusing poem entitled “When I’m an Old Lady and Live with Each Kid” which was about what she will do to her children when she becomes old. A few suggestions were to jump on the furniture wearing her shoes, and drink from the carton and leave it out, and stuff all the toilets and get into things like sugar and bleach. She would also be picky about the foods she eats, gag on it and spill milk.
We all really enjoyed these recitations. Two princesses joined in on the fun, Lady Belle (Sydney McIntosh) and Princess Victoria of Purple Passion (Victoria Clifford). Fancy sandwiches and delicious cake desserts and coffee were then served followed by announcements.
