Nestor Falls woman wins car

It was a very happy Canada Day for Shirley Brown of Nestor Falls, Ontario, who took home the Grand Prize of a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT in Riverside Foundation’s 2nd annual Canada Day Lottery. The Avis Family and Westend Motors donated the car.
Kim Avis made the draw on the deck of the Harbourage Restaurant just before the fireworks got underway.
Cash prizewinners included Todd Hamilton - $2,000.00; Leo Penny - $1,000; Lori Gregory - $500; and Noreen Koval - $500. Genevieve Jourdain won the Fly-In Fishing Trip for Two courtesy of Campbell’s Cabins.
Brooke Armstrong and Leo Sousa of Selkirk, Manitoba won the early bird prize back on April 28th of a Weekend Getaway for Two donated by Trail’s End Lodge.
The lottery netted over $23,000.00, which will be used to support the Just Imagine campaign to purchase a CT Scanner.
Teresa Hazel, Foundation Director was very pleased with the success of the lottery.
“We were selling tickets right up until the draw at 10 PM”, enthused Hazel.
“Thank you to all our prize donors, to everyone who purchased tickets and to the businesses and volunteers across the district who sold tickets for us. We are very appreciative of the generous support!”
