The “Miss-Sticks” meet for a 5th year

They come from Florida, Illinois, Kansas, North Dakota, Texas, Iowa, Minnesota, Morson and Bergland. But when they gather they are called the “Miss Sticks” - a group of summer visitors and locals who form a Red Hat group of summer visitors and locals who form a red hat group for the four months of summer. Meeting now for the fifth year, their goals are to enjoy each other, get to know the area, and most importantly, to have fun.
Last month they gathered at the Buena Vista restaurant for a great lunch and to hear a fun program on “Tea and Tea Pots” This month they boated out to explore Duck Bay Lodge. Owner Sheree Swistun delighted them with a lunch of spinach salad, and assortment of rolled sandwiches, crudites, finished off with frozen key-lime pie. Bev Brodie presented a lively program on “Grannie” Basketball in Iowa. Th ladies followed this with some specially - worded songs, complete with kazoos.
Next month’s meetings, scheduled for Aug 23 will be held at the Trinity Lutheran church in Bergland where they will be served a “Mystery Lunch” The season finale in September will be themed “Christmas in September” pot luck.
