5K run slated for RR Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival

Fall is fast approaching, bringing to Rainy River the 13th annual Giant Pumpkin Festival! Now you can plan to get off your pumpkin and celebrate the festival with a 5K race open to runners and walkers of all ages. The race will be held Saturday, September 15th at 9AM, beginning at the Rainy River Recreation Centre. Day-of-race registration begins at 8AM. The course will be on paved and dirt roads with a section of „cross country‰. Awards will be given to the overall first place male and female finishers as well as the top finisher in 7 age divisions. The entry fee is $15 by September 5th and $20 on the day of the race. Pre-registration also guarantees your size of T-shirt! Refreshments will be available for all participants after the event. Also plan to attend the community potluck at noon as well as other Giant Pumpkin Festival events.
