Stratton Sales Barn targeted by thieves

(Fort Frances, Ontario) The Fort Frances Detachment of the OPP is currently investigating several mischief complaints that occurred during the early hours of the 26th of August. A Fifth St East resident reported minor damage to a birdbath after it had been deliberately knocked over. A Third Street East resident reported several rocks thrown through a camper window. A large window to a residence located on Armit Ave was also smashed.
Scott Morriseau age 43 of Roseville Mn was arrested and charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample 10:25pm on the 26th of August. Morriseau had been operating his vehicle on Calder Rd in Fort Frances. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on the 27th of August.
Police responded to a theft complaint from the Stratton Sales Barn located on Barn Rd in Stratton. On the 27th of August police received information that 275-pound pails of steel pins have gone missing. The pins are described as 3/8 of an inch in diameter, 8 inches in length and bent at 90 degrees.
One bicycle was reported stolen over the weekend. On the 26th of August a bike was reported stolen from the 600 block of Third St East in Fort Frances. The theft is believed to have occurred earlier in the week. Stolen was a white Dyno BMX style with a blue seat and the letter D on it.
The Fort Frances OPP would like to remind everyone of the importance of ensuring their bikes are locked as well as their unattended vehicles. It only takes a moment to secure it....and seconds to lose it! Lock It Or Lose It!
