School board gets extra funding from prov.

August 16, 2007) - The Rainy River District School Board is expecting an estimated $370,000 of additional funding for the 2007-2008 school year. This increase is a result of the government’s recent announcement of $182 million provincially for the coming school year.
The announcement is to address salary benchmark increases within the funding formula, additional supports for primary classes, and special education.
Laura Mills, Superintendent of Business commented, “We are pleased with the additional funding that will be received for the new school year. The Board is awaiting details on this announcement and then will review how to best utilize the funds to enhance student learning.”
