With hockey season only a month away, Rainy River Minor Hockey is busy holding fundraising events.
For the second year the local hockey program is holding a 250 club. All this year they have been drawing weekly for $50 prizes, two $250 prizes and one $500 prize yet to come.
Last week they drew the second $250 prize and it was won by Susan Wolanicki of Rainy River.
The way the draw works is they sold 250 tickets at $25 each. Every Wednesday they draw a winner at the Rainy River Legion. With the 2007 year winding down they are now selling tickets for the 2008 draw and they are expected to go fast. They are available from minor hockey players and at the Legion.
All the proceeds go towards paying for ice rentals time for the hockey teams at the Rainy River arena.
Anyone wanting more information can contact Sheri Pirkl at Service Ontario. She also has tickets for sale.
Winners for the 2008 draw will be posted in the Record’s classified ads every week.
