RR runners do well at Devlin meet

Twenty-one students from Riverview Elementary School travelled to Devlin two Wednesdays ago to compete in the west district cross country running meet.
Doing the best on the day for Rainy River was Saragh Fraser, gr. 8, who came in first in her age group with a time of 12:40. Grades 7 and 8 ran 3 km. and grades 4-6 ran 2 km.
The next best finish for Rainy River was Skyler Arpin, gr. 6, who came in second in her grade with a time of 11:56.
Two other notable performances for RR belonged to Nolan Short, gr. 6, and Aaron Short, gr. 4, who both finished third in their grades. Nolan had a time of 11:29 and Aaron a time of 12:20.

This will be a busy week for cross country runners from Riverview as they are planning on running in a meet at Big Grassy, Thursday and then it is off to Thunder Bay for the Legion Mid-Canada Meet on Saturday. Fifteen of them will attend the Thunder Bay meet.
