Fire Dept. checking homes for smoke detectors

The Rainy River Volunteer Fire Dept. started up the “Smoke Alarm Program” in the town limits.
The Fire men will be going house to house checking smoke detectors and battery. The Ontario Fire Code requires that every home must have a working smoke detectors. Its the Law!
Most fatal fire occur at night when people are asleep.
Also when its time to turn back your clock in the fall, install a new battery in your smoke detector.
Rainy River Fire Chief Stewart McNally will be also handing out Fines to the home owner that do not have smoke detectors. The fines starts at one hundred dollars and upwards.
