Legion Ladies gearing up for annual Christmas party!

By Gladys Yeo

The local branch of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary held its monthly meeting on November 14th, with President Hazel Tullet presiding. There were 17 members present, and one past member, Carol Pratt was reinstated. Acting secretary Janet Schaff read the minutes of the Oct. meeting. All accounts were presented and authorized for payment.
A thank you letter was read from Riverview School for the donation made towards the Thunder Bay trip for the Legion Cross Country Runners.
The Veteran’s Tea held on Nov 3rd was very well attended. The ladies thanked JoAnn Giles for a job well done. Also thanks were given to all her helpers and the High School students who came out to help.
Treasurer Donna Ivall gave her report on the auxiliary finances. A motion was passed to donate $100.00 to the Lung Association. The auxiliary will be catering for the Chamber of Commerce supper on December 1st. Workers were delegated for this event.
It was noted that the ladies who prepared and served the Remembrance Day supper did an excellent job. A large crowd enjoyed the students for Riverview School for the art work given to decorate the Legion Hall for Remembrance Day.
Our next meeting will be on December 12th. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. This is an important meeting, as election of officers will be held.
Following the meeting the annual Christmas party will take place with a supper served by the Branch, and an exchange of gifts afterwards. Please bring a wrapped gift with a $10.00 value.
See you on December 12th.
