Huge drug bust made

Thunder Bay, ON, November 19, 2007- Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Officers at the Pigeon River border crossing seized almost 6 kilos of marijuana during a vehicle inspection on November 16. The drugs are valued at $119,934.
On Friday afternoon, Border Services Officers discovered small quantities of hashish and marijuana during a vehicle search after the driver stopped to ask for directions back to the Trans-Canada highway.
A closer examination of the vehicle yielded four bags concealed in the trunk containing approximately 6 kilograms of marijuana.
A 27-year-old Saint-Bruno, Quebec man was arrested and is charged with possession of a narcotic under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The individual was released on a $500 bond and a promise to appear in court. A court date to appear on the charges has not been determined.
