On Friday afternoon about 22 friends and family of Myrtle Lauzon gathered to wish her a happy 102nd birthday at the Rainy River Long Term Care Facility.
While this is a huge milestone for anyone to reach, Myrtle was not quite the oldest one at the party. Clinton Park, 103, was also in attendance.
Myrtle sat at the head table with her son Jerry Lauzon his wife Jean, Granddaughter Sandra Lauzon and Jean’s sister Janet Schaaf.
The party started with entertainment by Alice Bremault who played numerous old time favourites on the accordion.
A cake made by Sandra Lauzon was served and many well wishes were delivered to Myrtle.
A survey of everyone’s age in the room was taken and all were added up. There were 1,808 years collectively for an average age of 82 in the room.
