The McInnes Chapel Board meeting was held on Sunday, Nov. 18th, at the Chapel with twenty two members in attendance. President, Bob Locking, called the meeting to order. New attendee, Becky Woods, was introduced to all. The minutes from the Oct. meeting were read by Secretary, Carol Jenson, with no errors or omissions, and accepted as read. The Treasurer’s Report was then given by Vivian Locking. We received two new donations as well as other business being taken care of.
Discussion centred around the Christmas Supper; with set-up being on Friday, November 30th. The supper is Sat. Dec. 1st, 2007, at the Chapel from 4:30-6:30 p.m., followed by the Hymn Sing at 7:00 p.m. Cooking and duties were assigned to attendees. Susan Douglas was asked to be the emcee, as Carolyn Kreger is unavailable this year. Immediately, Susan, enlisted Mary Sanderson and Linda Budreau to assist her. Several people will be available to entertain along with our usual hymn sing to fill the hour with Christmas music.
A curtain was hung in the entrance to cover the top shelf in the coat area. Thanks to Linda and Larry Budreau and Bev Langner for making and hanging the curtain.
Bev and Linda will also be placing ice candles on the gravesites for our Dec. 1st evening service. It should be very illuminating!
Gordie Drennen collected signatures for get well and birthday cards to be distributed to members.
Danica Diebel gave a lovely reading. The business came to a closure at 3 p.m.
Everyone enjoyed the delicious pot luck lunch. Freewill offering was accepted.
Happy Birthday was sung to Bob Locking, Annie Van Rozen, and Hugh Jenson. A delicious birthday cheesecake was created and served by Vivian.
Our next meeting will be January 27th, 2008, at the Locking residence.
