CREAAAAAAAK! CRAAACCCCKKK!
CREAAAAAAAK!
CRAACCCCCCKKKK!
That is what my body sounded like Monday when I attempted to get out of bed.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings, my buddy Jim, his wife and I decided that we would tackle a dump truck load of firewood that he had hauled to town on Friday.
We had cut a similar load up last year and I don't remember feeling this many aches and hearing as many creaks and cracks.
It could be that I am just that much older (having gone over the hill "40" last July. Or perhaps it is the fact that last year the wood was dry pine and this year it was green birch.
Anyone that works with wood knows right away there is a huge weight differential there.
Well whatever the reason (probably a bit of both), I am sure that once I am mended I will be back out there working at it again (hopefully not too long as it would be nice to be done with it before it gets too warm out).
Speaking of getting older... one of our staff members here is turning the BIG 40 this Thursday.
Dawn Drennan, who also works part time at the bank is catching up to us old folks at the Record... So happy Birthday Dawn!
Well I better get back to mending so I can get back at it!
–Until then,
Ken
