Girls take 3rd in FF tourney

The Lake of the Woods 12U girls hockey team took third place in a tournament at Fort Frances recently. The girls faced teams from Fort Frances, Kenora and Dryden. Their record in the tournament was 4-1. The Bears avenged their earlier loss to a Kenora team by beating them 2-1 for third place. Earlier this month, the Bears captured the Shoot-out team champion trophy at their home tournament. They finished in second place, losing a heartbreaker to Warroad in the championship game. The 12U are 13-18-1 on the year as they head into the District Playoff Tournament in East Grand Forks.
