Women's Institute museum turns 40

Forest women’s Institute Met at the Common Room of Heritage House On February Nineteenth. There were six members and two guests present. Carol Clifford read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the financial report. We received a letter from the fair board requesting support for prizes at the fair. We will support an entry from a child. In a motion from Annie Van Rozen and second by Vivian Hartnell we paid the 2007 bursary. Carol Clifford gave a report on the District Directors Meeting held in Emo. Annie Von Rozen and Ruth Brett both gave us interesting updates on the progress of getting a new District museum building in Emo. The Museum board also would like to give the museum a new name. How to do this has not been decided yet. The museum is forty years old in 2008.A St. Patrick’s Supper in support of the Museum and the Emo Library on March 13 at the Emo Legion. The quilt we were raffling was drawn and it was won by Dawn Graham. Thank You to everyone who bought tickets.
The door prize was won by Ruth Huntley and Laurel Desrosier won the draw.
The next meeting will be at the home of Carol Clifford. Roll Call will be bring a prize for an auction. Peggy Livingston motioned the adjournment of the meeting and it was second by Carol Clifford.
A delicious lunch was served by Rose Hanson and Carol Clifford.
