Teacher charged with "Voyeurism"

Members of the Fort Frances Ontario Provincial Police are investigating an occurrence involving “Voyeurism” in the Rainy River District. These officers are being assisted by members of the Fort Frances and North West Region Crime Units. In addition to these officers, the Ontario Provincial Police Child Pornography Section and Electronic Crime Section are being utilized to assist with this investigation.
On the 27th of March 2008 the O.P.P. arrested a male teacher who works for the Rainy River District School Board. The accused is charged with two counts of Voyeurism, three counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm and three counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused has been remanded into custody pending a Bail Hearing. The police investigation into this occurrence is continuing.
Break and Enter
On March 23, 2008 an employee of the Town of Rainy River contacted the Rainy River OPP Detachment to report a break and enter to the Recreation Centre located at 302 Broadway Avenue. Investigation revealed the culprits broke an exterior window and gained entry to inside of the Centre. Once entry was gained to the building, culprits went into the kitchen and stole several assorted items.
