160 Voyageurs to travel through RR in late June

It will be unlike anything area residents have ever seen.
On June 25th 160 voyageurs will arrive in Rainy River to commemorate the historic 1808 journey of David Thompson.
Thompson was an explorer and map maker that few in history can rival. A recent National Geographic story on Thompson stated that David Thompson made Lewis and Clark look like tourists.

The David Thomson Brigades are a unique opportunity to celebrate local culture that includes the our natural heritage- the role of the land & waterways in our lives; the fur trade and relationships between Europeans and First Nations; the role of women (through Thompson’s First Nations wife- Charlotte Small), and our position on the International Boundary.
