It is spring concert time in Rainy River and Pinewood!
The Rainy River Community Choir is all set to entertain area residents this Saturday in Rainy River and Sunday in Pinewood.
The theme for the concerts is “Encore! The Music of Our Times.” Choir member Anne Mailloux said there will be popular music from the last eight decades beginning with music everyone knows from the 1920s and right up to the present. “There will be oldies but goodies,” said Mailloux.
The Saturday concert has been teamed with a spaghetti dinner. It will begin at 5:30 and all the proceeds will go towards Rainy River Railroad Daze 2008. People can purchase dinner/concert tickets at RR Drugs, Quality Bakery, RR Rec. Centre and the RR Legion. People can go to both the dinner and concert or separately attend just the concert at 7 p.m. If you plan to go to just the concert please purchase your tickets at the door.
On Sunday there will be just a concert at the Pinewood Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
Between choir numbers, smaller groups will perform. They will include Jacquie Dufresne on keyboard, Kitty Gale on flute, Dave Singleton on trumpet and Jean Heard on keyboard.
The concert will last about an hour.
Be sure to get your dinner tickets by April 16th so the cooks will know how many people to prepare for.
