RRHS
The Rainy River High School drama club is holding a free improv coffee house Wed. May 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the high school.
There are ten students performing and they have been working on this since January. There are some old faces; Josh Wilson, Mark Singleton, Brittany Pearson, Nadia and Aislinn Johnson as well as new faces such as Joe Andrews, Deidre Wilson, Tegan Miller, Nikki Dyck and Zach Sopotiuck.
The group will be performing a series of improv activities with some audience participation. They will be doing: “Lines from a Hat,” where the audience writes lines and the actors pick the lines from a hat without looking at them and then perform a scene and at random pull out the lines and read them so they fit the scene. They will also be doing movie dubbing, translation, tap out, party quirks and world’s worst. Most of these are done on the popular TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway?”
There will be free refreshments and a humour filled evening. There is a warning that the material may not be suitable for young children. After all, it is improvised and who knows where things can lead?
