Not only did the adults have a great weekend of fishing in Morson but so did the youth competing in the Fourth Annual Morson Bass International Kids Tournament Sunday.
Fishing on the Government Dock in Morson, 36 kids jigged and casted away hoping to catch some fish and they did not have to wait long. Just minutes into the tournament the fish began biting and kids were catching them steadily.
Last year’s champ Patrick Vogan, 7, took an early lead with three perch. But Jacob Jack was having a hot day as well catching them almost as fast as Vogan. They ended up tied at six fish each with only 10 minutes to go. But Vogan broke out his secret weapon, live worms and caught the seventh fish he need to win!
He was crowned champion for the second year in a row. He received a trophy and a deluxe tackle box. Jack came in second with six fish and received a TBay Tel water bottle and a pair of binoculars.
In total there were 37 fish caught by the kids and every participant received a goodie bag and a Morson Bass International t-shirt.
