This is Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s 11th Annual Fundraising Event. It has historically been held in February/March but this year is being changed to the fall.
“We decided to try a new time of year”, explained Teresa Hazel, Foundation Director.
“February/March was getting pretty busy with fundraising events, shows and holidays. An Oktoberfest party just seemed to work well in October!” she chuckled.
Joan Allison, who chairs the Special Events committee, hopes the community will support this new endeavour.
“The community has been very good to us over the past ten years...we hope that same spirit of support will continue”, she said.
Anyone who would like to donate a gift for the penny table, silent auction item or prizes for the festival games are encouraged to call the Foundation Office at 274-4803 or Allison at 274-9484.
Oktoberfest tickets can be purchased at Cousineau Brokers Ltd., 364 Store, Emo Health Centre, Rainy River Health Centre, La Verendrye Hospital or by calling 274-4803.
