While his face may seem familiar to the public in or around Riverview School, Dane Dalseg is actually in his first full year at the school.
Last year he started at the school when a teacher transferred to another one. He began in November at Riverview and continued there this year.
This is his fourth year of teaching. Prior to Riverview he had taught at Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton, so he is no stranger to this area.
Dalseg began his life in Bergland, but then moved to Emo as a young boy when his family sold the grocery store business. He grew up in Emo and attended public school there. His parents are Colin and Donna Dalseg and his cousin is Riverview’s secretary Terri (nee Dalseg) Yeo.
He joined the U.S. military for four years and then attended University at Moorhead State in Minnesota. After that he attended Lakehead University to get his teaching degree.
“I love this job. It is great!” said Dalseg. Last year he taught grades 6-7 and this year he has 5-6. “I teach all subjects except French.” They include math, english, social studies and gym/health.
He lives in Emo with his wife Robyn and they have a one year old son named William.
They love to fish and spend as much time as they can on Lake of the Woods every summer.
Dane also enjoys playing hockey in his spare time.
He said it was easy to fit in at Riverview. “This is a great school. There are great kids here and the staff have been very helpful.”
