Riverside HC Fac.

Riverside Health Care Facilities and Riverside Foundation announced that the Official Opening of the CT Scanner is set for Thursday, October 23rd at 2:00 PM in the Cafeteria at La Verendrye Hospital.
Welcoming remarks will begin at two o’clock. The program will include recognition of the Just Imagine campaign volunteers, a CT Scan video demonstration, and tours of the room and new technology. Cake and coffee will be served.
“This is a district-wide success and we hope to have a lot of people come together to share in the celebration”, said Deane Cunningham who chaired the Just Imagine campaign that saw over $1.5 million raised in less than six months to purchase a CT Scanner.
Wayne Woods, CEO of Riverside Health Care Facilities shared his thoughts on providing this much-needed service, close to home.
“It is another example of Riverside’s commitment to being the centre of excellence and the leader in providing a continuum of service in Northern healthcare”.
“It’s state-of-the-art technology that benefits health care at many levels”.

“...it provides ongoing educational opportunities for our staff, it assists with our efforts in physician recruitment and retention and, most importantly, patients and their families do not have to travel long distances to have a CT scan”, explained Woods.
The first CT Scan was performed at La Verendrye Hospital on August 5th. Currently, Riverside is providing up to seven CT scans per day, five days a week.
The event is open to the public. For further information call Teresa Hazel at 274-4803.
