News Release
MNDM
The quality of drinking water in Emo will be assured for many years to come as a result of water plant upgrades undertaken with Ontario’s support.
As part of its ongoing commitment to support the modernization of drinking water infrastructure in northern communities, the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) provided additional funding of $10,325 to complete work in Emo, bringing the total provincial investment to more than $43,000.
An improved drinking water system supports healthier living and will help attract new residential, commercial and industrial activity to the community.
“Our government is committed to providing clean, safe water to northern Ontario communities,” said Northern Development and Mines Minister and NOHFC Chair Michael Gravelle.
The Township of Emo’s water treatment plant supplies drinking water to approximately 300 households.
