Legion set to hold Remembrance Day services

Next Tuesday marks the 90th Anniversary of the end of World War I and across the land, Rainy River included, there will be Remembrance Day services held.
At the Rainy River Legion, Major Hughes Br. 54 the services will get underway at 10:45 a.m. in the Legion Hall.
Legion President Gerry Marchuk will welcome everyone. Gord Armstrong will then deliver the invocation to be followed by the Honour Roll read by Mayor Debbie Ewald.
Two minutes of silence will be then held to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice so many soldiers have made to preserve our freedoms.
After the hymn Eternal Father, there will be scripture readings by Angie Armstrong and new Covenant Church Pastor Kors Pater.
After a Choir Anthem, Pastor Darlene Smith will deliver the meditation.
Gill Stamler will lead a prayer for Peace and another hymn, Onward Christian Soldiers will be sang by all.
Carolyn Kreger will then deliver the benediction before everyone moves outside to the Cenotaph where a wreath laying ceremony will be held.
Mark Mast will deliver the Dedication there and many wreathes will then be laid by local families, businesses and other groups.
A free luncheon will then be held in the Legion and all are welcome to attend.
