Riverview girls win silver in FF
By Mark Jodoin
Coach
On the weekend, the Riverview girl’s volleyball team traveled to Fort Frances to take part in the Struchan Gilson Memorial Volleyball Tournament. It involved 6 regional volleyball teams from Rainy River to Mine Center. The girls played a lot of volleyball through the day and finished in a respectable second place after all was said and done. Through the day, games were played against Our Lady of the Way, Crossroads, Mine Center, St. Francis, and Robert Moore. The Riverview team ended with a 7 wins-3 losses record, bettered only by the team from Mine Center who had a 8 win-2 loss record.
Riverview volleyball teams will be on the court this Thursday (boys at Donald Young and girls at Sturgeon Creek), Saturday (boys at Robert Moore and girls at Crossroads), and next Saturday in Fort Frances when the regional championships will be held.
