Rainy River Christmas parade set for December 5th

Mark your calendars for the weekend of December 5th as that is when the Rainy River and District Chamber of Commerce is planning to hold its annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights.
The chamber is now looking for people to enter floats in the parade. To do so they can contact Meghan Shanks at the RR Rec. Centre at 852-4446. There will be prizes for the best floats! $100 for first, $75 for second and $50 for third.
The parade will begin at the south end of Main St. at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5th. It will travel north for two blocks to True Value and turn east and end at the RR Rec. Centre. There Santa will visit with children and have a special goodie bag for them.
There will also be free public skating at the Rec. Centre and the canteen will be open.
To kick the parade off the Mayor will light the town Christmas tree next to Gillons Insurance on Main. St.
